its short: yes

not the best: yes

But i made it because why not.

(+1)

Oh my gosh, that's so cool!! 🤩💕 thank you for sharing your edit and for your kind words! Really happy you enjoyed the demo 🥰💖

(+3)

Crowe is such an adorable LI! I love the overall vibe of this visual novel. The music, the aesthetic, the story itself. I am so looking forward to the complete release and the CGs!!!

Thank you so much!! 🥰💕

Ooomf, a RUBBER BAND SQUEEZED MY HEART WHEN I SAW "To be continued". It/s really captivating and I want more. Slight spoiler alert (I guess. It/s one sentence, but just in case).

This dude really went from 0 to AINT NO ONE AND NOTHING COMING BETWEEN US in a day and a half. Goddamn. I can/t wait for the full release.

Like I comment in all developing games that I like though, take your time. A game is so much better when it is a loved product - a result of a hobby. When it becomes a chore, then the result TENDS to be anticlimactic, dull, or lacking in some way.

Guys it may just be me.. but the green haired dude is kinda sus 🤔

Deleted 1 year ago

I mean the main character focuses on their break since theyve been very stressed out, but maybe the dev will fix that

(+3)

It was so good!!

(+4)

(+1)

Can you do the 32-bit version i only have old laptop pls.

(+2)

(+3)

Loved the demo sm. I look forward to seeing where you go from here! Gotta a love that manipulative pretty boy. The setting and premise are fantastic. Like, even if the mc wanted to push back more, they are stuck. Winter is dangerous.

(+1)

Thank you so much! 😊❤ Winter is dangerous indeed 👀

|| !! Light Spoilers !! ||

This demo was amazing! I can't wait to see the full version. The voice acting and artwork are very well done, the atmosphere and music are well placed, and the conversations between Crowe and the MC feel natural, even when choosing hostile/defensive answers.

Interestingly enough, while the 'hostile/defensive' choices might make the MC appear weak-willed because she gives in anyway, I actually think it drives the point home that, realistically speaking, if you were to wind up stuck in a stranger's home out in the middle of nowhere with no SAFE alternative for leaving, your safest option is to be on your best behavior--Especially after being saved from freezing to death in the wilderness. That being said, I was actually surprised at being offered the option to throw a tantrum over being undressed and re-dressed given that this is the proper way to treat prolonged exposure to the cold.

As for the choices, how each one pans out subtly changes the atmosphere between Crowe and the MC in a believable way, and allows for Crowe's personality to flow steadily between him being a 'sweet, low-key manipulator' and a 'hot-blooded fanatic'.

Overall, I feel that Crowe's character, specifically his personality and dialogue in general, are the best part of this game. In a way, it's hard to describe, but when compared to the more extreme yandere types I have seen in games, Crowe's oddly mature yet fun-loving personality is strangely appealing. So much so, that I quickly found myself forgetting that he's a yandere type--until the moments that he is alone or panicked where it briefly peeks out. On a side note, I don't know if you plan on adding 'intimate' scenes, but Crowe and the MC's chemistry is off the charts--so kudos on that as well.

The only thing I could perceive as 'needing work' is that Day 2 feels rushed compared to Day 1, but it's also where the demo ends, so for all I know, there could be more to that day.

Another thought that crossed my mind while playing was that Crowe was stated to be in his late twenties or early thirties, and yet he looks much younger than that. It doesn't really matter (because anime), but it caught me off guard for a second.

All in all, I came for the yandere romance and thrills, and am super excited to see the finished product now.  Well done! ^_^

(1 edit) (+1)

I enjoyed this game and like someone else in the comment said i would like if the choices we make would also change the dialogue, the way the mc acts not just endings. I don't like if people make choices that seem to not matter during the game (unless it's something like the vegan vegetarian and such choice). And if the mc would have give off the vibes that they easily change their opinion if they think it upsets someone i wouldn't have brought it up. It just kinda seemed weird that they acted that way even tho we seemed to be a direct and stubborn person (if we weren't then maybe giving off more of the vibes the mc is supposed to be would be nice)

I hope also that the way the yandere character manipulates the mc will be more manipulative as in not the mc just kinda always change their mind if they upset the yandere or else it doesn't seem really manipulative and doesn't really need the warning (in my opinion)

I also love the background art props to you. If there was something i didn't like was the yandere design especially their teeth (kinda looked goofy) and they also looked more like a child than someone in their mid twenties (but i'm also aware by the fact that some people look older or younger than they usually are)

But i'm also not trying to tell you what to do and what not. Yandere characters are all different in their own way (even if they end up having the same intentions that is wanting the person they love to love them whatever it takes). So i tried making tose suggestions from what i think you tried to do with this yandere character.

Sorry if i was a little too critical i just enjoy yandere games and yours has great potential so i wanted to show you my pov . But again just because i have a different idea of the game doesn't mean you must do it. It's your game afterall :D

Also sorry for my english lol and if i have come off as rude tell me!

(+1)

Wow, for a demo i see so much potential <3 the voice art and graphics are lovely!! I like all the options as it a interesting way of letting mc be herself, themself, himself, as not everyone is vegan or a meat eater i thought that was very interesting . I cannot wait for the full game! Thank for making the game  so far hope you continue soon <3

(+1)

Oh my gosh, this demo was amazing! I was so intrigued by Crowe and I'm so curious to see how this will all unfold! Can't wait for the full release <3

(+4)

It's a good game, and I enjoyed it, but it's rather strange how the choices we're provided with appear to be pointless...

vv*Light spoilers!!*vv

For example, if we choose to express feeling uncomfortable that he changed the MC's clothes while they were unconscious, the MC quickly changes their mind and apologises for bringing it up (I really dislike this in particular because it makes the MC appear spineless and willing to let people cross their boundaries, or worse, it suggests the MC was unreasonable to feel that way to begin with and that feels quite invalidating -- it's perfectly acceptable to feel uncomfortable that a stranger undressed you while you were unconscious and couldn't consent, even if they had their reasons). If we choose to refuse to eat, the MC quickly changes their mind and apologises for refusing, agreeing instead. If we express feeling uncomfortable with the nickname and protest it, the MC quickly changes their mind and accepts it. If we choose to say we're unsure of whether we want to stay or not, the MC quickly changes their mind and agrees instead (although this is more understandable since we don't really have a choice in this situation, it would still be nice to see the MC express distrust and discomfort after seeing how Crowe reacted -- I think adding options on how to react after we refuse would be nice, so we're not automatically forced into the pushover role)... I understand that Crowe is meant to be emotionally manipulating the MC, but I think that should be presented in more subtle ways that don't take the agency away from the player.

^^*Light spoilers *^^

I think it takes away from immersion when we're provided with choices that don't do anything, and we're forced into an MC that we can't really control. Well, it felt to me at least like I wasn't really in control of the MC, and they feel like quite a pushover. The game feels like a kinetic novel as it is right now, since none of the choices have any impact currently. Again, I really did enjoy the game! It's just something you could work on for a future update (which I am looking forward to playing)!

I hope this doesn't come off as mean or anything, I'm just trying to help! And you can feel free to tell me if you're not looking for feedback of this sort, I'll respect that and enjoy your game nonetheless c: <3

I think that is a good point of view, I also don't really like MC to change their mind so much like that but maybe it's beacause Crowe try to make them feel bad kinda like manipulation.

(+3)

Yeah, I agree with you c: !! I definitely think Crowe is meant to be emotionally manipulative, I just feel like it can be portrayed in a way that doesn't take away from the interactivity!! I think there's power in taking away agency from a player, but it only works if we had control to begin with and then lose it; that's why I think a slow progression of his manipulation would work better...

(1 edit) (+3)

Hello! 🌸 Thanks so much for the feedback! Don't worry, it didn't come off as mean at all! I completely understand how this may have made you break immersion, it's true that this could make the MC look a bit spineless whxgwhd 💦

When I started writing this game, MC's "put off/realistic" choices actually had more impact (for instance, if they didn't want to eat anything, then they really didn't eat anything). The reason why I changed it to the way it is now is because I wanted to give a different kind of feeling. A feeling similar to being trapped because Crowe can be a really manipulative person (this is why I also added to the TW the thing about emotional abuse). A lot of the times when MC tries to be realistic, or is even put off by Crowe's actions, he will make comments that will make MC take a step back and change their mind because of guilt. I understand it probably won't be everyone's cup of tea, but rest assured that the different types of choices will result in 3 different endings 💪

Thank you for giving the game a chance! I'm glad you still enjoyed it 🥰

(+1)

Hi!! Thank you so much for your response :D !!

I did pick up on the fact that Crowe was intended to be emotionally manipulative, but it still feels rather unnatural/jarring/spineless for the MC to change their mind just because Crowe acts sad and makes them feel bad 😭😭 I feel like more obvious attempts at manipulation only work if the player can believe they’d successfully be manipulated by them ?? Hence why I suggested more subtle forms of manipulation that don’t take away player agency, or a more gradual progression that makes taking away player agency more powerful, or perhaps more choices that allow the MC to react to Crowe (or perhaps allowing the MC to realise that something is wrong after a lot of successful manipulation attempts) ??

I’m glad to see that the story will branch after the demo, and I hope you don’t mind my suggestions (ofc you can feel free to disregard them)!! I’m a writer myself, and for some reason, I tend to be more critical towards works I enjoy TwT .. So yes, I definitely did enjoy it, and I think the full game will be quite amazing c: !!

(+1)

I agree!

(+1)

thank you :D!!

(+3)

I went and replayed to see mcs reactions for those scenes and to an extent not only through the manipulation there is a sense of background understanding to why mc might feel guilty. For example the changing reactions. Manipulation aside I think it is implies some common sense to why that option understand why mc might remember thus feel guilty. If experiencing hypothermia if possible you need to get out of wet clothing and recommend in first aid to remove them as fast as possible. I think coming from that kind of angle of knowing that its less about clothes and more,, medical emergency paired with the manipulation of Crowe would make a person feel more guilty because in this case it is a life or potential medical harm case not just a 'they changed you into pjs because you seemed uncomfortable sleeping in normal clothes' scenario. I think even if the options don't amount to much in terms of ending having a second option to express discomfort or relent the topic even if feeling guilty can keep that understanding to the manipulation and why mc feels that way while still letting people have that option. Or with food, even if the cooking is still rejected Crowe once again could use the medical 'scare' from yesterday into saying food gives energy which should be needed given you used up a lot yesterday which in turn would likely give mc a reason to 'push back' as an option but eventually result in the same guilt of knowing yeah mc doesn't have many options right now and if they plan to pursue leaving would need food/energy/etc type guilt.

This isn't to say this isn't a perfect solution or what should be done but as of now i kind of understand why there is a push-over nature in the first few days as Crowe does have the leverage over the MC and even if these ideas are expanded to result something like getting upset in the later days rather than at the start they might have an effect of that sort of feeling of being manipulated into giving in. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that even though things don't amount to much right now the guilty feeling and being so easy to give in I think makes sense for MC current outcome given that they were begging to be saved by the end of the prologue and in a sense might feel need to be overly polite/give in to who was their rescuer.

(+2)

(+2)

This demo was very satisfactory to play. The writing seems to have been well-thought-out, the characters are likeable, and the atmosphere emits a sense of warmth. Excited for the completed release!

Thank you so much! Happy to know you enjoyed the demo and are looking forward to the full game 🥰❤️

(1 edit) (+4)

This is honestly the BEST game I have played so far. I loved Crowe's character design and personality. I am super excited about the full game. When I played, I didn't realize it was a demo so when I saw the "to be continued" screen, I felt like crying, I was so interested in the game. The storyline was amazing and the backgrounds were perfect. I hope there will be more yandere-like scenes in the full game. Would it be possible for me to know when the full game will be out? (You don't have to rush) :)

(+1)

Awww, thank you so much, that's really sweet of you 😭💘🥰

As for when the game will be released, I actually just created a post with frequently asked questions, hehe. Thank you for your interest! ❤️🥰

(+2)

1000 in just 3 days is very impressive! Aside from the excellent writing and Crowe being an interesting, mysterious character, how did you advertise you game?

(+1)

Awww, thank you! 🥰 Honestly, I'm really shocked myself, it's the first time this has happened to me 😳😳😳 I initially made the demo as an experiment to practice my writing and programming, and to see if I could release a solo game after not having done so for years.

I don't think I did anything special to advertise akvjbsdkbg 💦, I mostly posted some screenshots/videos to twitter with a few tags like #visualnovel #vndev #winterVNjam and the like. I also made a few twitter polls for people to help me decide the name of some places (like Frostpeak Town and Winter Hollow) and it seems they had fun being a part of the process 😊❤️

(+2)

Excellent game; I absolutely adore the art! If I could give one suggestion, though, maybe recenter Crowe's sprite? He's a little too far down on the screen and doesn't take up much space, making it feel a little empty. A bit of resizing should do the trick. Can't wait for the full release!

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you so much! 🥰🌸💕 You're right, Crowe's close-up sprite is a bit on the smaller side skdbgskbg. Sadly, I bought his finished sprite so I can't scale it down from a bigger file 😭 I scaled it upwards a few pixels and it actually... looks pretty good 🤔 hopefully this means it'll look better now in the full-version and he won't look super petite 😂 Thanks a lot for the feedback! 😊💗

(+3)

Absolutely IN LOVE with this demo. I have played a lot of yandere vn's, but I think this is one of the most well-thought-out ones, and possibly my favourite so far, with some of the best writing for something like this in a while. Crowe is a very likeable character and well written! Can't wait for the full version!!

(+3)

Aaskbgksdbgdjks you're so sweet, thank you so much! 😭💘 It makes me really happy to know you enjoyed it! It's my first time writing a character like Crowe so I'm overjoyed that people like him  🥰🌸💕

(+1)

If I may ask how long is the whole game with all the endings included?🤔😄

(+2)

Heyo! 🌸 At the moment there's only the demo which takes from 30 min to an hour depending on your reading speed, but I'm still not sure about how long the full game will be 😖 I'll be sure to update the word count once it's finished though 😊

(+3)

THIS WAS SO GOOD! CANT WAIT FOR THE FULL VERSION EJKASUDH

(+1)

Thank you so much! 🥰💕

(+2)

im so obsessed with the art in this game!! amazing demo <3

Aww thank you! 🤗💗

(+4)

I got so absorbed in the story then got 'to be continued', was not ready to leave it there! Really good visual novel, lovely art and music that set the atmosphere so well. The writing is excellent, engaging plot with an MC who is a really fun and relatable person to play as. Crowe is absolutely delightful, apart from the gorgeous design I love his personality, he's so charming. With Yandere characters I sometimes find I can't see the appeal of them and am just waiting for them to go crazy, but I think I'm genuinely falling for Crowe already (props to the voice actor btw). Fantastic work, definitely going to keep an eye out for the full version.

(+4)

Ashxhwhhs what a sweet review, thank you so much 😭💘💖 really happy to know you enjoyed it and are looking forward to the full version!

Loved this Demo! I can't wait for the full game to unravel the rest of this story. Thanks so much for sharing your game!

I played this for my YouTube, so if you'd like to check it out in another tab then click here!

Thank you so much for your sweet comments and for making a video of the game! 💖 I really enjoyed watching your gameplay! ❤😊🌸

(+2)

This was a great demo! Cant wait for more!

Thank you!! 😊💗

挺有意思

(+6)

Aw, and I was just hoping to reach the end. Well, guess will have to wait for the entire one to come out then!

The game is so smoothly done. And it develops really organicly as the narrative goes on.  The backgrounds are amazing, as well as Crowe's design and expressions, and the music was really well chosen!

Also, it gets extra points for the car being called Herbie haha

(1 edit) (+3)

Aww thanks so much!! 🤗💕 I'm happy you're liking the story so far!

Some of the backgrounds unfortunately used AI, which was sth I didn't realize when I bought those assets, so these will be replaced. The good news is that the cabin ones will be completely original 😊

PS: I'm glad the Herbie pun was well received hehehe 😂

(+5)

I shit you not this is one of the best Visual Novels I've read and I DESPERATELY NEED THE FULL VERSION

(+1)

Ahzbwxbhs that's so sweet of you to say, thank you so much 😭💖💕

I can't wait for the full game and more of Crowe! I definitely wouldn't mind being his little research assistant and drink chaga tea together by an open fire <3

(+2)

Thank you! 😊💖 drinking chaga tea together by an open fire sounds wonderful 🥰💕

(1 edit) (+4)

Loving this atm. The backgrounds, music, story telling, dialogue and Crowe are wonderful.  I also enjoy how mc and Crowe interact with eachother. I now have a weakness for shark teeth now. Can't wait for the full  version and looking forward to more

Awww thank you so much! I'm very happy to know you're enjoying it! 🥰❤ Hehe, ngl, I have a weakness for shark teeth myself 🤭💘😳
